Recent Accomplishments

-Working with a coalition of citizen and environmental groups to prevent the nation’s 4th largest cement kiln and associated limestone mine from being built on the banks of the Northeast Cape Fear River.
-Partners with three other eastern North Carolina Riverkeepers and Waterkeeper Alliance in the Pure Farms, Pure Waters Campaign to fight CAFO pollution.
-Working with a broad range of stakeholders to restore the Cape Fear River’s anadromous fishery, through research, advocacy, and a public education campaign.
-Removed more than 15,000 pounds of trash last year with the help of over 200 volunteers.
