Recent Accomplishments

--Coordinated the effort to oppose a zoning exception for a proposed coal mine in the River gorge. If permitted, the mine would have been completely surrounded by public lands in an area of exceptional biodiversity and would have been less than 1,000 feet from the Yough.
--Hosted a watershed summit which brought together all of the small watershed groups working in the Yough basin to determine the top ten priorities for restoration of the watershed
--Secured inclusion of Laurel Hill Creek (a trib of the Yough) in American Rivers’ 2009 Most Endangered Rivers List
