Kristine Stratton
As Executive Director, Kristine partners
with Waterkeeper organizations, the governing
boards and Alliance staff to strengthen the
coalition of grassroots Waterkeeper
organizations worldwide, build the capacity of
Waterkeeper Alliance to fulfill its mission,
and work to ensure that the world’s waterways
are clean, safe and healthy for the communities
and wildlife that depend on them. She measures
the organization’s success, and her own, by the
presence of strong Waterkeeper organizations
around the world and the direct improvements
achieved through Waterkeeper Alliance and
Waterkeeper organization joint
campaigns.
Her prior experience includes
overseeing operations at the New England
environmental advocacy organization
Conservation Law Foundation, which houses the
Lake Champlain Lakekeeper; over ten years of
planning and management at the flagship public
broadcasting station WGBH; and projects for the
Appalachian Trail Conference, Cape Cod
Commission, and Museum of Fine Arts, among
others. Kristine has a B.S. in Business
Administration from Boston University and M.A.
in Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts
University.
